Nevada Central Media is proud to introduce a new design at lcsdnv.com – one of our latest web design projects. After originally designing the Lincoln County School District’s website in 2011, it was time to make some upgrades. We enjoyed working with LCSD again!
Consult and Planning
The Lincoln County School District serves K-12 students in all of Lincoln County, Nevada. This rural county is spread over 10,000 square miles, with headquarters in Panaca, Nevada. The school district is relying more heavily on their website to provide information to students, parents, teachers/staff and others. As we discussed the project with LCSD, we saw an opportunity to simplify the website so the most used information would be quickly accessible from the home page, and any important announcements would also be prominent.
Design and Development
Nevada Central Media created a mobile-friendly design with a new color scheme. We made use of large SVG icons directing visitors to the most popular pages and smaller icons directing to other parts of the website. A news feed on the home page provides quick access to important announcements posted by the district’s staff. Breadcrumbs were added for easy navigation through pages and sub-pages.
Launch and Maintenance
Nevada Central Media carefully tested the site for mobile-responsiveness and user experience on a variety of screen sizes and devices. Analytics are continuing, and Nevada Central Media is maintaining the website, ensuring all components are backed up and updated regularly. We also work with the staff to add new content and elements as needed.
