The Lincoln County Photo Festival is returning for the second year, bringing professional photographers to Lincoln County, Nevada to teach hands-on workshops in this fantastic high desert environment.
As the media manager for the Lincoln County Authority of Tourism (LCAT), NVC Media is playing an important role in organizing and promoting the event. Over the years, we have expanded LCAT’s audience through print advertising, social media growth, website enhancements, and email marketing.
The audience is broken into a few segments. The first includes individuals LCAT invites to visit the area as tourists. The second, locals who participate in events in the county. The third is made up of local businesses that are kept informed on what’s happening so they can better serve the resulting visitors. The value brought to these audiences include information and excitement about all the events and attractions in the area and, for businesses, the tools to maximize revenue opportunities.
Much of these efforts are supported by the Nevada Commission on Tourism (TravelNevada). Meanwhile, NVC Media and LCAT are spearheading efforts like the Photo Festival, with an eye toward self-sustainability. This is an event that we hope will take on a life of its own as photographers from surrounding regions converge for new adventures.
This year’s festival is June 21-22 and provides hands-on, professional photography workshops in some of the most incredible locations Nevada has to offer.
Classes include Action/Sports, Drone, Sunset, Night Sky, Wildlife, Impressionist, Travel, Environmental Portraiture, and Photo Editing. Instruction will be given in the field by experienced professionals at some of the most beautiful and unique high desert environments.
Our media management efforts for the event include web pages on LincolnCountyNevada.com promoting the event, a Facebook event page, many social media posts, setting up an EventBrite registration portal and integrating that with the website and Facebook event page, a Facebook group to build a community around the event, an email list of present and past attendees, advertising in popular photography publications, poster creation/distribution, word-of-mouth promotion, and earned media efforts.
As the audience builds around the Photo Festival and Lincoln County generally, NVC Media helps LCAT provide value to these audiences through highlighting all the opportunities surrounding tourism here. This ultimately generates revenue for local businesses and sustainability for LCAT to pursue this important mission for years to come.
