A lot of business owners, including myself, have set up websites and social media assets in hopes that more people will find them and buy their products or services.
But simply setting up the assets and then expecting something to happen is kind of like buying a lawn mower and then sitting in your lawn chair waiting for the grass to get shorter.
Your Internet investments are tools that can help you get your message out there, but just like any other tool, they’ll only help you if you take them out of the garage and use them. It’s usually not enough to plop some info on a website or Facebook page and then expect a flood of people to find you, follow you and, most importantly, become new clients.
Search engines like “noisy” web presences – ones that add new info often on specific topics.
“But Ben,” you say, “I’m a plumber. What could I possibly have to say that people would be interested in?”
Quite a lot, actually. You have expertise on something that a majority of people don’t, yet use every day. And you go out there each day and do great work. Why not share your knowledge and experiences online? Why not make your website the place that people go when they want to learn more or need help with their problem that you know everything about? Why not make you social media a forum where people can come to learn more about plumbing… or landscaping… or whatever? Then when they need help in that area, they’ll know exactly who to call.
We are here to assist in any part of the process.
