NVC Media puts Lincoln County on the map with new resources for tourists

Nevada Central Media has partnered with the Lincoln County Regional Development Authority (LCRDA) to develop new maps of Lincoln County, designed to boost tourism and inspire exploration among visitors and residents for years to come. The project includes a new countywide map, as well as one for each of Lincoln County’s four largest communities — Alamo, Caliente, Panaca and Pioche — and a detailed guide to the county’s new mountain biking trails and off-highway vehicle trails.

The maps were funded with a Nevada State Parks Recreation Trails Project grant secured by LCRDA and are the culmination of a thorough process that took over a year to complete. NVC Media tapped expert cartographer David Veller for the project. Veller reviewed detailed geographic data and the latest information from LCRDA to design thorough, accurate and easy-to-use maps that promise to help visitors make the most of their time in Lincoln County. The resulting maps are extensive wayfinding resources of Lincoln County and are among the first to plot the county’s new mountain biking trails, which are a major draw to the area.

Each map charts must-see destinations and local attractions, like state parks, historical landmarks, shopping, dining, recreational areas and other exciting ways to discover what Lincoln County has to offer. With major highways, unpaved roads and trails charted in detail, visitors can follow suggested routes to explore by foot, bike or OHV. The maps also provide historical context and local color, helping visitors find everything from a bite to eat downtown to a ghost town adventure to activities like fishing, horseback riding, camping and more. These resources also include emergency contact information and important tips for safe and respectful exploration of the Nevada landscape.

The new maps are posted at kiosks recently restored by NVC Media, located at Panaca Summit, Pony Springs and Alamo, as well as new kiosks installed in Alamo, Caliente, Panaca and Pioche.
